Ian’s being very kind.. ๐
Was definite a fun, if long and snowy, day! ๐ Near white out on the way down from Whistler had me bail on driving after a stop in Squamish for a bite to eat. Ian chivalrously offered to drive since my back and leg were really starting to bother me and I was having trouble with the conditions.
So, here’s this poor Englishman turned Australian driving on the wrong side of the road (for him ๐ in a 95 Sidekick whose driver seat doesn’t slide back or forth and is set up for a 5’7 me, and which has acceleration issues. (Gas pump hissy fits? Vaccuum seal in exhaust system falunked? I don’t know. It’s just a PAIN!) Of course, mostly on accelerating up hills.. and what is between Squamish and Vancouver? A whole lotta hills!!
Absolutely worth the drive up, and not just because I forced him to buy me tea ๐ That’s an absolutely dreadful pic of me tho! It’s almost like I had two layers on under my jacket and had snow in my face..!
ReplySounds like the ride down the mountain was as adventurous as a bobsled ride! If it were me, I’d “count” both the vicarious experience of watching, and then actually coming down the mountain in a less-than-perfect transport during treacherous conditions equivalent to “Bobsleigh Run”. (That’s why I’m never too specific on my goals!)
Lorna, you look beautiful in the photo!
ReplyLOL Yvette.. Yes, it was a fun drive. Especially when you consider I don’t have depth perception ๐
Maybe Ian should start taking notes of the “Accidental Achievements” for a second book. Things like “I survived a Canadian’s driving down a mountain in a white out” and “I ate curried ice cream!” ๐
..and thank you for the compliment!
