We dropped down out of the mountains towards Denver, where we had arranged to meet with friends Val and Eric, along with Eric’s brother Josh and son Dylan. The meeting place was spectacular. Red Rocks Canyon is a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre surrounded by huge rock outcrops.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were playing that night, but the concert was completely sold out. However, we managed to find someone with a couple of spare tickets to sell, and joined our friends for a fantastic evening.
The next day we drove down to Colorado Springs where we enjoyed some time with friends, some great hiking and a bit of a break from the travelling.
The final leg of the journey brought us back to Houston – three days of driving, broken a little by a couple of nights relaxing at Lake Whitney State Park. We are now parked up at the rear of our friend Brad’s industrial unit, busy cleaning the RV and preparing it for it’s return to PPL Motorhomes, where we hope to sell it.
It is a little sad to have reached the end of such a wonderful journey, but as always there are new adventures ahead – more on that in the next blog.

That’s it for this adventure. We fly this weekend back to England where we plan to catch up with friends and family. Funds are running a bit low now, but we have plans to top them up in a new adventure – new blog posts coming soon….
