I am back once more at mum’s house in Darlington, and am working again on my charity fundraising goal while here. I am sure mum thinks I never have time to sit and talk to her, as I am always on the go while here, trying to catch up with friends, writing blogs, working on the next goals, or, as I did a couple of days ago, being interviewed and photographed for a national newspaper! (Article to be published in tomorrow’s Mail on Sunday (UK) newspaper, I think.)
Just less than a year ago I had the first half of my 50 fundraising photos printed, and on mum’s dining room table, spent many hours sticking labels on the back of each picture, and signing and numbering the front of each one.
Well, I have now finished the selection of the second half of the pictures, and I got them all printed while in London, and brought them north with me. And once again over the past couple of days, I have spent several hours labelling and signing all the photos. The job is now done though, and the pictures are all ready and available.
There have been a few people patiently waiting for me to get the second half of the pictures sorted out, and I have now mailed out their orders. Thanks to those who have waited, for both your support and your patience!
So, I now have a complete set of fifty pictures, and have printed fifty copies of each one. They are all unique, each individually signed and numbered, and each one can be secured for a donation of twenty Australian dollars, which goes directly to the Bowel Cancer and Digestive Research Institute. Bowel, or colon cancer is responsible for a huge amount of deaths worldwide, and yet is one of the most easily treatable forms of cancer if discovered early enough.
Unfortunately, bowel cancer took my father sixteen years ago, and is something I have to be aware of for the rest of my life too, as there is a genetic component to the disease.
So if you would like to be an important part of one of the goals, your help would be most appreciated. I can’t possibly achieve this goal without your help. Take a look at the pix below, and see if there are any you like. I am pretty proud of them. You can click on any of the pictures to be taken to the fundraising order page.
Also, if there is anyone out there who would like to help out as a fundraiser for this goal, I really do need all the help I can get. If you are able to spend a little time, perhaps emailing companies, organisations, etc, to ask for support, that would be fantastic. My biggest supporter to date is Philippe, from French company EIE Global. Philippe sponsored me to got to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, and he supported this goal too by buying one of each of the 50 pictures. Fantastic! If I can find a few more companies to do something similar, I will be well on my way to achieving this one!
Also, if you could email the charity fundraising page link on to any friends or family that you think might like to support, that would be wonderful too.
Here are all fifty pictures. (Update 2019 – this fund raising goal is now complete – pictures are no longer for sale – thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this goal).
Thank you for your support.
