Wow. I am already finding out some fascinating stuff about some of the places I am planning to visit. A couple of people have mentioned the sculpture-in-progress of Indian chief Crazy Horse, which is apparently fairly close to Mount Rushmore. I hope to see Mount Rushmore sometime around October this year, as it is already on my goals list as a must-see.
I had a bit of a search and found out that the Crazy Horse sculpture was begun in 1948 by Korczak Ziolkowski, and his family are still continuing his work today.
It is planned to be the biggest mountain sculpture ever created. When finished, Crazy Horse will stand 641 feet long and 563 feet high – now that’s worth a bit of a detour!
