In the run up to the ALife4Sale auction, I had been asked by many people what I was going to do next. I didn't really know, but I was sure that I wanted to do some travelling. As the weeks went by, and the auction approached a plan started to form. This eventually became a list of 100 things I had always wanted to do, places I had always wanted to see - a lifetime list. I set myself the challenge of achieving these 100 goals in 100 weeks. But with the lack of a buyer at the end of the ALife4Sale auction, my travel plans were in doubt, and in July of 2008, I wondered about what I should do. I had already made plans to depart in early August, but hadn't yet booked my flight. The main problem was that I still had a mortgage to pay, and was unsure of how long the house might take to sell. I weighed up my options. If I stayed, nothing much would have changed, I would probably get another job in the mines, and my life would be much the same as before. If I caught that flight, my future was unwritten. In late July I made my decision, listed my house with a real estate agent, and on 3rd August 2008 caught a flight from Perth to Dubai, starting an incredible 2 year long adventure.
