Hi there,

And thanks for getting this far... your interest in helping out is much appreciated.
Hopefully you might be able to do something, however small, to help to spread the word a little...
The second suggestion below only involves a few seconds in order to make a significant contribution to marketing efforts.

The book is now in print, and available online from Amazon in various countries. Amazon is the main focus for most of my marketing efforts. A few of the suggestions below involve ways you can help with Amazon sales and ranking.

USA Canada UK France Italy

Amazon Germany               Kindle version - Amazon US
Amazon Japan               Kindle version - Amazon UK

During the writing process, quite a few people have asked how they could help with the next part of the process, which is of course getting word out about the book. So here are a few ideas, if you do have the time and inclination.

However, please don’t feel any sort of obligation whatsoever. Anything you can do to help is very much appreciated.

1). Personal recommendation. The cornerstone of any successful marketing campaign is good word-of-mouth (or word-of-email) referrals. It would be awesome if you could email your friends and family, letting them know that there is a book available in which you had a small part in creating, or the development of which you have been following. The best page to send them to is the book-details page here (just copy-and-paste the link below):

2). Amazon suggestion #1 - This is the quickest and easiest way you can help out a little - just a few seconds will do! A very influential part of a listing on Amazon is the "Reviews" section. For reviews that have already been written, there is a "Did you find this review helpful?" section. Below each review there is a "Yes" and a "No" button, and you can indicate whether the review was of assistance to you. "Yes" votes for good 5* reviews help keep these reviews on top of the review list.

3). Amazon suggestion #2 - The main focus for my marketing is going to be Amazon.com. If you enjoy the book, I would be extremely grateful if you could write a short review on the Amazon website relevant to you. Click the appropriate Amazon link above to take you to the book on your local Amazon, and click on the “Create your own review” button. Please only do this if you have actually read the book though. (NOTE: You do have to have made a previous purchase on Amazon before you are allowed to leave reviews.)

4). Email me your comments - If you don't have time, or aren't able to leave a review on Amazon, then please feel free to let me know what you think of the book. I am placing comments at the bottom of all webpages, to let others know what people are saying about "A LIFE SOLD".

5). Amazon suggestion #4 - Another really quick way to assist - Amazon makes use of tags to assist people to search for products. You can add your own tags, or agree with tags already suggested by others. I think the most relevant tags are: travel, adventure, ebay, auction, life changing, goal setting, separation, divorce, love... tick the ones you agree with, or add your own. You are allowed to tick or add up to 15 tags.

6). Amazon suggestion #5 - Christmas is coming!! If you are stuck for Christmas present ideas... I know a great book that would make an ideal gift!! Once Christmas has passed, birthdays are coming...

7). Amazon suggestion #6 - If you are buying presents, allow me to add a couple of recommendations... I have to admit I do have my own agenda here, and as I suggested before, ask nothing of you – I am simply making some suggestions!! Allow me to explain…
One of the most successful marketing ploys on Amazon is to get linked to other books. Underneath each book there are two relevant sections. The first is called “Frequently Bought Together” and the second is called “Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought…”
If a new book gets bought a few times with another book, ideally a best seller of the same genre, it can become linked to that book, and sales can rocket. For example, if my book was bought several times in the same transaction as “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert, it couldn’t do my book any harm at all.

Other books similar in style or content to mine might include:
Eat, Pray, Love
by Elizabeth Gilbert
(Marriage crisis leads to worldwide journey in a search for answers and meaning - sound familiar? I could use that overview as a description for my book too!)

Drink, Play, F@#k
by Andrew Gottlieb
(A brilliantly funny, laugh-out-loud parody of Elizabeth's book.)

Yes Man
by Danny Wallace
(English book by a guy who decides to say "Yes" to everything! The Jim Carrey movie of the same name was based on this book - the book is FAR better!)

Honeymoon with My Brother
by Franz Wisner
(Another story similar to mine, in which the author is ditched by his wife-to-be just hours before his wedding. He ends up going on the already-booked honeymoon with his brother, and then decides to continue travelling for a further year.)

The Laptop Dancer Diaries
by Yvette Francino
(I managed to make it into Yvette's book as Mr November, as she tells her side of our blind-date meeting as I passed through LA on my travels)

You may benefit too from a joint purchase, as I know Amazon cover all mailing costs if you combine purchases to reach a certain total – for example, $25 or more in the States or canada.
